Linda O'Neill
Biography
Linda O’Neill was born (1951) in Toronto, Ontario, but for many years made Edmonton Alberta her home. She studied at Grant MacEwan College (Fine Art Diploma 1994), the University of Alberta (BFA 1996), and at the University of Guelph (MFA 2000). She has participated in a number of artist’s workshops and residencies, including the Emma Lake Workshop in Saskatchewan, the Leighton Foundation in Alberta, and the Gushal Studio in Blairmore, Alberta. She has exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions since 1990, and her paintings are included in public, corporate and private collections across Canada and in Europe. She has received study and travel grants from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, graduate fellowships from University of Guelph, a graduate scholarship from the Province of Ontario, and Visual Art Exhibition Assistant Grants from the Ontario Arts Council. She has taught as a sessional instructor for the School of Fine Art and Music at the University of Guelph, as well as teaching art class and workshops at the community level in Alberta and Ontario. Linda presently resides in Guelph.
